Special Education

Special Education

Special education refers to educational programs and services designed to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities. These needs could be physical, cognitive, emotional, or behavioral in nature, and they may require accommodations or modifications to the regular educational curriculum in order to support the student's learning.

Special education aims to ensure that all students, regardless of their abilities or disabilities, have access to appropriate education that allows them to reach their full potential. This may involve individualized education plans (IEPs), specialized instruction, assistive technology, accommodations, and related services such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, or counseling.

The goal of special education is to provide students with the support they need to participate in the educational environment alongside their peers to the fullest extent possible, promoting their academic achievement, independence, and overall well-being. It emphasizes inclusion, equity, and meeting the diverse needs of all learners.
